Atikokan Ontario may be Canada’s Canoeing Capital, but there’s more to Atikokan than just canoeing.
Atikokan is slowly garnering a reputation as great place for Mountain Biking adventures.
There are a number of trails throughout the area that lead into lakes and rivers.
There are also old logging roads often blocked to motor vehicles, but ideal for a biker.

Perhaps the best spot in area for mountain biking is the roads around the old Steep Rock and Caland iron mines.
The mines have been closed since 1980, but roads and trails are often left intact and offer some great biking.
The old mine areas are sure to become a mecca for mountain bikers from around the world, enjoying the great northern wilderness and some spectacular views.
Pack a fishing rod if you’re biking into some of the remote lakes, or a container to pick wild blueberries or raspberries with.

Be sure to bring a camera to catch some of that great scenery or perhaps some of the wildlife.
Mountain bikers use our camp as a great base for their adventure.
Housekeeping Cabins are available, although our spacious campsites with central outhouses and showers seem to appeal more to the adventurous breed of bikers.
